My name is Macià Falgàs and I am a professional translator. My native language is Catalan, which is my target language in translation, and my source languages are English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Romanian.
My Experience
I have a Postgraduate Degree in Translation by the New University of Lisbon. I have the Diploma D in Catalan (the highest level of language skills in this language). I have been working as a translator for more than 3 years, and my experience includes many translation works into Catalan.
I can offer a wide range of services including translation, proofreading, edition, localization, transcription and subtitling.
I can translate all kind of texts from English, Portuguese and Spanish. For any translations from French, Italian and Romanian, I would need to confirm my availability depending on text to be translated.
My range of rates goes from 0,04USD to 0,11USD per word (depending on the technical level of the texts, number of words, deadline, and source language). In example, a text with 4000 words from English into Catalan with a deadline of 5 days would be 0,06USD/word.
I can accept payments through Paypal, Moneybookers or bank transfer. For translations of more than 5000 for new clients, a payment of a 20% of the total price is required at start through Paypal or Moneybookers.
I use Trados as my regular translation program. However, I am also very familiar with Wordfast, which I can use through its demo version. I can also translate documents in QuarkXPress, Dreamweaver, FlashMX, Freehand, InDesign, XML and HTML.
I can also do translations into Valencian Catalan, the variety of Catalan spoken around the city of Valencia.
